The death toll in Gaza is nearing 20,000 people. According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, controlled by Hamas, the Israeli offensive in the Strip has killed 19,667 Palestinians, the majority of whom are women and children. After attacking the northern part of the enclave, the Israeli army has been attacking the south for days, specifically the surroundings of Rafah and the city of Khan Yunis. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has stated that the army’s military operation in Gaza will expand to “additional areas,” although he has not specified which ones. At least 100 Palestinians have died and hundreds have been injured since yesterday due to Israeli attacks, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza. Meanwhile, objections from the United States are delaying the vote at the UN Security Council to request an increase in humanitarian aid in the Strip for another day. The plan is for the Security Council to vote on the initiative presented by the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday morning.
