España se encuentra rezagada en cuanto a la puesta en marcha de los fondos estructurales europeos.

Spain, as a member of the European Union, has been the slowest country in terms of investing EU funds from structural funds. According to the annual report of 2022 released by the European Commission, Spain has only consumed 63% of the slightly more than 75,000 million euros allocated to the previous EU budget period. This means Spain has spent 47.315 million euros, as of September 2023. This level of execution is by far the lowest among the Twenty-Seven member states, with Italy being the next least efficient at 70%. In contrast, Portugal has already completed all its tasks and has invested all the money planned for these community expenses.
